The spread of the novel coronavirus has claimed another sports league victim, as the XFL has decided to suspend all operations after just five games – putting the future of the league in some considerable doubt.

And unfortunately, the decision also comes with the laying off of all employees.

According to NFL writer Ben Fischer, the decision came 24 hours after the league refunded the money fans spent on season tickets, as well as deposits for 2021.
