We have confirmation on three more Division I hockey players from programs in the state of Michigan signing professional contracts in the last week, bring the total number of players signed to 15 (03/21 and 03/28 signings).
Former Michigan goaltender and Holland, MI native Zach Nagelvoort has reportedly signed (on 03/24) with the Missouri Mavericks, ECHL affiliate of the New York Islanders.

Nagelvoort, originally a fourth-round pick of the Edmonton Oilers back in 2014, opted to sign a free agent deal with the Islanders ECHL affiliate. He just wrapped up a four-year career at the University of Michigan, where in 71 games played he logged a career .909 save percentage. He played in just a little more than 1,250 minutes combined over his final two seasons, compared to over 2,500 minutes as a freshman and sophomore.
Nagelvoort has yet to seen the ice with his new team since reportedly signing.
A second former Michigan State player has also reportedly come to terms with a team. Four-year starter and Chelsea, MI native Joe Cox has signed with the Florida Everblades, ECHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes.

Cox was never drafted during his time at Michigan State, but was a mainstay for the Spartans in all four seasons. He played in 143 career games, scoring 28 goals and totaling 69 points. His best mark came in 2015-16 when he potted a career-best 11 goals and recorded 23 points.
Cox has already played in four games since signing with the Everblades, has yet to record a point and is a minus-2 thus far.
Lastly, former western Michigan winger Kyle Novak earlier this week signed with the Quad City Mallards, the ECHL club for the Minnesota Wild.

Novak played in just eight games this season for the Broncos, scoring one goal and recording four points. Like Cox, Novak was never drafted during his collegiate days. He finished his Western Michigan career playing in 85 games, notching 31 total points (14 G, 17 A).
Novak’s most prolific time as a hockey player was from 2011-13, where in two seasons with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL he lit the lamp 44 times and racked up 128 points in 123 games played.
Novak has appeared in one game so far for Quad City and has yet to find the stat sheet.
