Amon-Ra St. Brown says chip on his shoulder is ‘not going nowhere’

As a rookie, Amon-Ra St. Brown led the Detroit Lions with 90 catches for 912 yards and five touchdowns but what is even more impressive is that over the final six weeks of the season, he had 51 catches for 560 yards, including catching eight or more passes in each of those games.

The question is, can St. Brown continue his trend in 2022, or will opposing defenses, who will surely game plan for him much more than they did as a rookie, be able to limit his production?

Amon-Ra St. Brown says chip on his shoulder is ‘not going nowhere’

Following Friday’s practice, Amon-Ra St. Brown spoke to the media and he said that he is still planning to do what he does and the defense has “still got to stop it.”

“I mean, they still got to stop us, you know what I mean?” St. Brown said after Day 3 of Lions training camp. “They still got to stop it, and that’s why we got (offensive coordinator Ben Johnson). He’s going to put us in the right position to make plays, put the players in the right position. That’s why we have coaches, and, at the end of the day, I do what I do and you’ve still got to stop it.”

“I had a chip on my shoulder coming into this league and it’s not going nowhere for me,” St. Brown said. “The goal of this league is to be consistent, like I said earlier, last year. So for me proving that I can do what I did last year and even more is what’s keeping me going right now.”

It is going to be very interesting to see how opposing defenses play Amon-Ra St. Brown in 2022 but it is going to be even more interesting to see how Detroit Lions’ offensive coordinator Ben Johnson puts the youngster in a position to succeed.

Nation, how many catches do you think Amon-Ra St. Brown will have during the 2022 season?
