In their first preseason game of the year, the Detroit Lions were not only stomped by the New England Patriots but they also lost one of their receivers.
Lions wide receiver Jermaine Kearse suffered a brutal leg injury which will likely keep him out for the rest of the season.
Now, with a roster spot open, the Lions have signed free agent wide receiver Deontez Alexander. In a corresponding move, they have waived LB Tre Lamar.

Alexander had just been waived by the Lions last week.
