BREAKING: Detroit Tigers trade Ian Kinsler to Los Angeles Angels

UPDATED WITH TRADE DETAILS – 9:13pm

With trade rumors swirling all day on Tuesday, one has finally come to fruition. The Detroit Tigers parted with fan favorite Ian Kinsler today, trading him away to the Los Angeles Angels. The news should come as no shock to anyone, as Kinsler’s name has been tossed around as trade bait since the beginning of June last year; he was even claimed on waivers in August.

Kinsler came to Detroit in 2013, in a deal that many applauded. We shed the excess of Prince Fielder’s attitude, while still paying some cash, and got a great offensive and defensive second baseman. Kinsler has been remarkable in the Old English D, and even with a down year last year, has been a cornerstone of a damn good run for the Tigers.
