FOX Sports' Colin Cowherd experienced a frightening moment while dining at a restaurant Saturday night near his Southern California home.
He was taken to the hospital after experiencing a sharp pain in his side and was afraid he'd contracted COVID-19, though he would test negative. Tests would soon show he'd developed a blood clot in his lung.
“I was pretty much knocked out with morphine, a narcotic, for 16 to 18 hours,” Cowherd said.
Tests are still being done to determine exactly how the blood clot formed.
“I'm waiting for the blood work,” he said. “I have no idea why it happened. I have been doing a lot of skiing at high altitudes, traveling, that could be it. We don't know. We’ll find out in a few days.”
First Things First host Nick Wright is currently filling in for Cowherd on his show as he recovers.
