When Matt Patricia was FINALLY fired, Darrell Bevell was given the title of interim head coach of the Detroit Lions with the hopes that he could convince Lions’ ownership that he was the right guy for the job long-term.
Well, despite the Lions’ record indicating otherwise, Bevell did an outstanding job getting his team to play hard, right down until the final seconds of the last game of the season.
Because of a job well done, Bevell will get his chance to interview for the head coach opening, and though the odds are certainly against him getting the nod over a top candidate like Robert Saleh, he will have his shot.
On Monday, Bevell spoke to the media and he said that if he gets the job, he would want Matthew Stafford to return at quarterback. When asked, Bevell said he believes Stafford can win a Super Bowl if the right team is put around him.
Bevell on if Stafford can be a Super Bowl winning QB: I would love nothing more than for Matthew to be in that place. I think he deserves it and if you put the right team around him he can win a title.

Nation, do you think Bevell has any real shot at getting hired as head coach of the Lions? Do you agree with his assessment of Stafford?
