Following the Detroit Lions acquisition of DE Everson Griffen from the Dallas Cowboys for a 6th round pick last week, speculation continued to abound on what the team and GM Bob Quinn planned to do leading up to the NFL Trade Deadline.

And though WR Marvin Jones Jr. found himself to be the subject of trade rumors combined with the Kenny Golladay injury news, the Lions made their choice.
The NFL Trade Deadline has officially come and gone, and the Lions stood pat, making no additional moves. They’ll be moving forward on the season with the players they currently have on the roster. They have, however, hosted free-agent WR Mohamed Sanu for a workout.
Next up on the schedule for the Lions is a divisional matchup against the Minnesota Vikings on the road. They’ll be looking to improve their record back to the .500 mark, as they’re currently 3-4.

Everson Griffen looking forward to Detroit Lions debut this week
The Detroit Lions pulled off a deal last week, acquiring Everson Griffen from the Dallas Cowboys to help shore up their defensive unit.

Almost immediately after the trade, Griffen took to social media to express his excitement over heading to the Motor City and promising to be a “motherf****in dog ready to eat.”
And while he wasn’t able to make his Lions debut during Sunday’s setback against the Indianapolis Colts, he’s looking forward to doing so this weekend against the Minnesota Vikings. And he’s certainly fired up.
Griffen took to social media to once again share his thoughts, with a bit of a more philosophical approach this time:
He’s getting ready to participate in his first practice this week after clearing the COVID-19 testing process. And after having played in 154 career games since 2010, it’s safe to say that Griffen is indeed one of the “real” ones.
