Born and raised just outside of Kalamazoo as a die-hard Detroit sports fan. Attended Western Michigan University and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona not too long after graduation. Currently a medical sales rep and unapologetic Lions addict.

Detroit Lions GM Bob Quinn had a busy day. After landing arguably the best right tackle on the free-agent market, he was also able to add an intriguing linebacker, Paul Worrilow.

It looks as if his contract will be a one-year prove-it type deal with the Lions.

According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herold, the New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and Indianapolis Colts also showed interest in the former Atlanta Falcon.

Worrilow, 26, was picked up by the Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2013. At his Deleware Pro Day, he wowed scouts with his lateral quickness (3.97-sec 20-yard shuttle), explosion (10 feet, 4 inches broad jump) and strength (30-reps on the bench press).

In his first three years in the league, he amassed an impressive 364-tackles. Last year was a different story for the 6-foot, 230-pound backer. Atlanta’s 2016 second round rookie, Deion Jones, replaced Worrilow in the starting lineup–relegating him to special team duties.

The Lions depth at linebacker was very thin last year. At the very least, Worrilow will contribute on special teams and will push for the third linebacker spot behind Tahir Whitehead and DeAndre Levy.
