On Saturday, we had a “whoa” moment when the news broke that the Detroit Lions had placed QB Matthew Stafford on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
Ever since the announcement, there has been plenty of discussion as to whether or not Stafford should/will decide to opt-out of the 2020 season, and what other Lions could opt-out.
Personally, I would not blame Stafford one bit if he made the decision to opt-out of the season, especially considering he and his wife Kelly have a newborn baby and Kelly is not long-removed from brain surgery.
Another Lions player who has been mentioned as potentially opting out of the 2020 season is safety Tracy Walker, as his wife is currently pregnant.
Well, according to a photo Walker shared to his Instagram story on Saturday, it sure sounds like he has made up his mind and that he will not be opting out.
“I definitely can’t opt out! I miss football too much!!”
The quote came from Walker during his recent appearance on former Lions’ safety Glover Quin’s podcast, The DB Room.
Regardless of what Walker ultimately decides, we will respect it and support it 100%.
