We have learned that we can always leave it to the Detroit Lions to find a new way to lose a football game.
Well, on Sunday, we learned that we can also leave it to the Lions to lose a football game in crazy fashion twice in the same season.
According to ELIAS, the Lions are the first team in NFL history to lose twice in a season on 50-yard field goals on the final play of regulation.
The Lions lost on Sunday when the Vikings kicked a 54-yard FG as time expired and they lost in Week 3 when Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker connected on an NFL record 66-yard attempt.
Folks, it has to get better, right?
The #Lions are the 1st team in NFL history to lose twice in a season on 50-yard field goals on the final play of regulation, per ELIAS.
They also lost in Week 3 to Baltimore on Justin Tucker's NFL-record 66-yd FG. They lost today on 54-yd FG.
