Detroit Lions should poach former 1st Round pick from Houston Texans

On Wednesday, news broke that the Houstons Texans had traded RB Mark Ingram to the New Orleans Saints for a package that is expected to include future late-round draft picks.

Following the news breaking, Texans WR Brandin Cooks took to Twitter and made a comment that shows exactly how he feels about how things are going in Houston.

Cooks is clearly pissed about how the Texans organization is currently operating and it would not be surprising at all if he demanded to be traded.

If Cooks is made available for trade, the Lions should swoop in and poach the former 1st Round pick (if the price is right) as he would immediately become the Lions No. 1 receiver. Obviously, if the Texans demanded too much in return, it would be a no-go for the Lions as wide receivers are not a position that a team should ever overpay for.

The one holdup would be that it is unlikely the Texans deal Cooks as doing so would end up costing them over $7 million in dead cap space. It seems unlikely that the Texans would even consider unloading Cook but if he demands a trade, you never know.

Nation, would you like to see the Lions go after Cooks?
