According to Jon Morosi, the deal between the Tigers and Gardenhire will be for three years, and a formal announcement could come as early as Friday.
Gardenhire, who is is 59-years-old, knows the American League Central very well as he spent 13 seasons as the skipper for the Minnesota Twins. While in Minnesota, Gardenhire led the Twins to six division titles.
