The Detroit Tigers made the decision last week to DFA infielder Renato Núñez after the return to the lineup of Derek Hill. And now, they’re taking another step.
According to multiple reports, the team has outright released him:
Infielder Renato Núñez was released today, per the transaction wire. He had been outrighted to Toledo four days ago.

The Venezuelan native has also played in the majors with the Baltimore Orioles, Texas Rangers, and Oakland Athletics.
He hit four home runs with seven RBI in 2021 while playing with the Tigers.
