Major League Baseball’s international signing period has kicked off, and the Detroit Tigers have reportedly settled on a new deal.
According to national MLB writer Jesse Sanchez, the Tigers have reached an agreement with Dominican shortstop Cristian Santana worth $2.95 million:
Santana is ranked the No. 14 overall player on MLB’s international prospects list.
International signing day was originally scheduled for July 2 of last year, but thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, begins today and lasts through December 15.
