Former Detroit Red Wings goaltender Chris Osgood won 400 games in his NHL career, winning the Stanley Cup twice as a starting net minder and a third time as Mike Vernon’s backup in 1997.

But he’s also known for accomplishing a feat that few in NHL goalies history have ever done – scoring a goal.
On March 6, 1996 against the Hartford Whalers, Osgood launched the puck from his own goal line into the empty net at the other end of the rink. He’s one of 12 goaltenders who have been credited with a goal, and one of only seven to have scored by shooting the puck directly into the opponent’s net.
