From the moment Matt Patricia was hired as head coach of the Detroit Lions, the team was destined for disaster.
During Patricia’s first season as head coach, he managed to ruin any culture the Lions had as he put down players in front of their teammates and forced out anyone who did not bow down to him.
Though Patricia reportedly improved over the past two seasons in regards to player relationships, it was not enough and he was eventually fired after not being able to lead the team into a spot where they were contending for the playoffs.
According to Lions’ rookie Jeff Okudah, who spoke to the media on Monday, the team was dealing with “dysfunction” and that players and coaches weren’t always on the same page. Okudah added that personality and scheme were issues.
