A peaceful protest took place in Ann Arbor earlier today, and featured some prominent members of the University of Michigan sports scene.
Head football coach Jim Harbaugh as well as basketball forward Isaiah Livers participated in a march to show solidarity with those protesting the death of George Floyd in Minnesota.
“They wanted to make sure they could help out to make sure their connection (to the march) was known,” said former Michigan walk-on Mahmoud Issa, who organized the protest. “It led everyone to come out to help.”
The protest started on State Street and continued through the UM Diag. Participants included Ann Arbor Police Chief Michael Cox, Washtenaw County Sheriff Jerry Clayton, and Mayor Christopher Taylor.
