Jim Harbaugh reportedly says Michigan fans ‘already did’ turn on him

UPDATE:

On Wednesday, we passed along a report/rumor from a source of Gregg Henson that Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh got into a “heated discussion” with Wolverines’ AD Warde Manuel.

Henson gave an update late Wednesday night on some of the things that were said during that discussion.

From Gregg Henson:

Apparently Harbaugh and Athletic Director Warde Manuel had a semi-heated discussion as to why Jim hadn’t signed his contract and Warde said “the fans are going to turn on you.”

Harbaugh responded “they already did.”

Harbaugh also said “they wanted me gone last year, what’s the hurry for me to sign.”

Henson went on that he still believes that Harbaugh will stay at Michigan but that he is going to make the fan base (and apparently Warde) sweat it out a bit.

At this point, I’m told Harbaugh is playing around as he felt the fan base treated him like shit last year.  He’s a competitive guy who wants respect more than money.

He is staying, but he’s gonna make you beg and the fan base deserves it.

According to former Detroit Sports radio host Gregg Henson, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines’ Athletic Director Warde Manuel had a “heated discussion” because Harbaugh still has not signed the contract being offered to him by Michigan.

When asked about his source, Henson said it is a “direct source” and when asked again, he said his source is Jim Harbaugh.

Take this for what it is worth but we figured we would pass it along.
