By now, you have certainly heard the reports/rumors from The Athletic that Jim Harbaugh may be interested in leaving Michigan to return to the NFL.
Every year around this time, rumors pop up about Harbaugh having the itch to return to the NFL and that teams in the league are interested in bringing him aboard. As we know, those offseasons have all come and gone and Harbaugh is still at Michigan.
Now a report has surfaced (that is behind a paywall) from Wolverines insider Sam Webb that suggests Harbaugh previously told a top recruit that he plans to “entertain” NFL options.

Here are my thoughts on this.
First of all, I do not believe that Harbaugh truly wants to leave Michigan to return to the NFL and he will coach the Wolverines in 2022 and beyond. Second, I also believe that Michigan is about to make Harbaugh the highest-paid coach in the Big Ten and that Harbaugh could be using the NFL speculation to get exactly what he wants from the university.
It is very hard to get into the head of Jim Harbaugh but there is absolutely nothing that leads me to believe that he wants to leave Michigan anytime soon.
