The Detroit Lions turned in their most complete performance of 2021 yesterday afternoon against the 10-3 Arizona Cardinals, dominating their guests by a 30-12 final to earn their second victory of the season and improve to 2-11-1.
For head coach Dan Campbell, it served as a validation of the system that he’s been trying to instill on the team in his first season on the job. And while it certainly came with some growing pains, he believes they’re on the right track.
“They understand, really kind of like they have that when you put in the work and trust the game plan and trust your stuff and teammates, and when we do things a certain way, good things can happen,” Campbell said. “There is a way to win in this league, an you have to give yourself the best opportunity to have success. One more time, it validates that we can do some things. We can take teams to the wire with a chance to win, and that was one of the better teams over there.
“It validates that we can do this and stay true to what we do, our system, and what we’re preaching.”
