Thankfully, it sounds like Detroit Lions‘ rookie tight end T.J. Hockenson will not be out long-term after what was a very scary moment during the Lions loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4.

In the third quarter, Hockenson got a bit too aggressive and tried to hurdle a Chiefs defender while attempting to game some extra yardage. In the process, Hock was upended and came down hard on his head and shoulder.
The Lions rookie has been in concussion protocol ever since the fall, but things seem to be looking up as he did limited practice with the team on both Wednesday and Thursday.
On Friday, Lions head coach Matt Patricia gave the latest update on Hockenson's brain injury saying he is still day-to-day and that he would meet with team doctors following Friday's walkthrough practice.
Hockenson still day to day, per Patricia, but he'll be out with the team for Friday's walkthrough and then check with team doctors again after as he's been doing.

Getting Hockenson back for the Lions Monday Night Football game against the first-place Green Bay Packers would be huge. Let's hope all goes well today and that he clears all tests so he is able to give it a go on Monday.
