Fans of the University of Michigan basketball team are still buzzing following the stunning departure of head coach John Beilein for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and for his subsequent replacement in the form of former Fab Five member Juwan Howard.

Beilein responded to his former team replacing him, and he was all smiles!

“(Warde) Manuel had great options in front of him!” Beilein, now the Cleveland Cavaliers coach, tweeted on Thursday afternoon, referencing the Michigan athletic director’s search.

“The selection of Juwan was a fabulous one. He loves UM, knows hoops & has a thirst to coach. He is a great fit to lead UM into the next decade of (Michigan basketball). I will be rooting for Juwan & team every game! #goblue #WelcomeHomeJuwan”

Howard is expected to officially be introduced as head coach in a press conference next Thursday. The deal he signed is for five years, and he replaces Beilein who was the winningest coach in UM basketball history.
