Right around this time each year, the Madden player and team rankings are released and players and fans always love to debate about which players and teams are ranked too high or too low.
Well, EA Sports has released their rankings for Madden 21 and you guessed it, players and fans from every NFL city are complaining.
But we are here to focus on the only team we care about, the Detroit Lions.
When scrolling through the player and team rankings, it is extremely evident that whoever decides on the ratings does not believe in the Lions…at all.
As a team, the Lions are the No. 30 rated team in the game, tied with the Washington franchise and only ahead of the Miami Dolphins. The Lions’ team ratings are as follows.
- 77 Overall
- 77 Offense
- 79 Defense
In addition, the Madden 21 does not have a single Lion rated above 86 (Kenny Golladay and Trey Flowers) and only have a total of 13 players rated at 80 or above, including QB Matthew Stafford who comes in at an 83, which is criminal.
In case you were wondering, Stafford’s 83 rating ranks him tied for 11th with San Francisco 49ers QB, Jimmy Garoppolo.
Here is visual created by @RNB_Visuals on Twitter which shows a projected Lions starting lineup on offense and defense. That offensive line sure does look shaky!
Nation, are you buying these Madden 21 ratings? Who is too high? Who is too low? Do the Lions really have the No. 30 ranked roster in the NFL?
