It’s officially rivalry week in the Mitten State.
The undefeated No. 6 ranked Michigan Wolverines take on the undefeated No. 8 Michigan State Spartans this weekend in East Lansing, a matchup fans in Michigan have been waiting for. And you can bet the players are hyped up as well.

“Honestly, last year is over, and this is a new year and it’s new blood and it’s fresh air,” Ross said. “We’re just ready to go out there and compete, have a great week of preparation and go get it this weekend.”
Last season’s 27-24 Spartans win in Ann Arbor was the highlight of Michigan State’s season under first year head coach Mel Tucker, who has overseen his program take tremendous strides since then. And the Wolverines are putting in all the stops to make sure something like that isn’t repeated.
“When you change how you prepare during the season, that’s a problem,” Ross explained. “We’re preparing the right way every week. This week, it definitely is higher stakes — we’re going against an in-state rival — but we’re going to just attack it the same way and elevate, for sure.
“But at the end of the day, it’s about us having a great week of preparation and attacking it the right way, like we have been doing every single week of the season.”
