Monster Jam coming to Ford Field on January 28th!

If you have not had an opportunity to check out a monster truck experience in your lifetime, you will have your chance on January 28th at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.

That’s right, “Monster Jam,” which happens to be celebrating their 25th Anniversary, will be coming to Detroit and will feature the one and only Gravedigger, which will be operated by Charlie Pauken.

From Monster Jam Press release:

Monster Jam is the most action-packed live event on four wheels where world-class drivers compete in front of capacity crowds in both monster truck racing and freestyle competitions.  Celebrating 25 years of adrenaline-charged family entertainment, Monster Jam combines spontaneous entertainment with the ultimate off-road, motorsport competition. The sport features the most recognizable trucks in the world including Grave Digger, Max-D, El Toro Loco, Monster Mutt and many more.  Monster Jam events leave fans on the edge of their seats as these competitors thrill with jaw-dropping displays of gravity-defying feats.

Some quick facts about Monster Jam Trucks:

  • Approximately 12 feet tall and 12 feet wide

  • They must weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds

  • Engines are custom built specifically for the sport and produce about 1,500 horsepower

  • Tires are 66 inches high and 43 inches wide and cost $2,600 each

  • Average cost of a Monster Jam Truck is about $250,000

The event will be held on January 28th and will begin at 7 p.m. (doors will open at 5:30 p.m.).

Tickets start at $15 and can be purchased at fordfield.com or at the Ford Field Box Office.

In addition, fans who really want to have some fun can get FREE Pit Party passes by going to any participating Metro Detroit Metro PCS location.
