Multiple people struck by lightning at PGA TOUR Championship

The odds of being struck by lightning in any one year are 1 in 700,000.

However, multiple people at the PGA Tour Championship outside of Atlanta have now become a statistic. The Associated Press reported that multiple people were struck by lightning near the practice range at East Lake Golf Club at around 5 p.m.

NBC’s Mike Tirico made the announcement at about 5:30 p.m. and stated that none of the injuries were life threatening but didn’t have many other details regarding the injuries.

Golf was suspended the rest of the day.
