Jacob McDonald is back, and this time he’s looking back on a moment beloved to most Detroit Red Wings fans. After polling the comments on his YouTube channel, Jacob decides to watch a full video of The Brawl in Hockeytown from 1997. Also known to many Detroit fans affectionately as “The day Lemieux turtled”.
Long story short, as many fans know, the Brawl in Hockeytown was the epic fight between Detroit and the Colorado Avalanche. The brawl was the result of a dirty hit a year prior by Claude Lemieux on Kris Draper.
Previously, McDonald reacted to some of the highlights from Pavel Datsyuk’s career, and they blew his mind. Now he gets to witness one of the best brawls in NHL history. Keep in mind that McDonald is going into this viewing blind and with zero context. Therefore, you’ll have to forgive some of his transgressions. (Such as “man I feel bad for Lemieux”.)
Skip to 2:13 in the video to get right to the fight. WARNING: Some NSFW language in the video.
There’s something magical about watching someone get fired up over old school hockey fights. Someone should let him in on the badly-kept secret of Bob Probert.

Henrik Zetterberg’s dressing room stall officially occupied
It’s slowly settling in more and more by the day; the end of Detroit Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg’s playing career. It was announced last month that the 37-year old veteran was calling it a career thanks to degenerative back problems that have plagued him over a few seasons now.
Since the announcement, Zetterberg’s stall in the dressing room was vacant, but that has officially ended. The Red Wings today assigned it to newcomer Michael Rasmussen.
