NBA trade season is upon us and according to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic, the New York Knicks are among multiple teams who are ‘in pursuit' of Detroit Pistons star, Jerami Grant.
From The Athletic:
The Knicks are interested in Pistons forward Jerami Grant, according to colleague Shams Charania, who writes that the Wizards, Trail Blazers and Lakers also are in pursuit.
Here is what James Edwards III of The Athletic believes a potential trade between the Pistons and Knicks would look like.
The Pistons send Grant to the Knicks and receive Noel, Burks, Toppin and their 2022 first-round pick, which would need to be at least lightly protected. But there are complications here, too. Three-for-one trades are difficult in-season, considering this one would mean Detroit releasing two players to stay under the max of 15 guaranteed contracts.
Nation, if you were the Pistons, would you trade Grant? Would the above package be enough to make it worth it?
I would so do this trade for Noel, Toppins and Burks. Noel can definitely address our lack of paint protection and Toppins playing next to Cade wouldn’t be bad
