When it was initially reported that the Detroit Lions were going to be trading Matthew Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams, the understanding was that they were going to get Jared Goff, the Rams 3rd Round pick in 2021 (No. 88 overall), and a pair of future 1st Round picks.
Well, on Thursday, the trade was made official but instead of the Lions getting the Rams No. 88 pick, they will be getting their compensatory pick, which is the No. 101 pick.
Not a huge difference here but picking at No. 88 is certainly better than picking at No. 101.
This is still a great trade for the Lions.
