The NHL’s Ottawa Senators, an Atlantic Division opponent of the Detroit Red Wings have officially unveiled their new logo, which is a return to their roots.
Their new identity is a modified version of their original “2D” logo they used when they joined the NHL in 1992. It will also replace the 3D Roman solider logo the team had been using since the 2007-08 season.

“It is time for the Senators to return to our roots,” said Eugene Melnyk, owner of the Ottawa Senators. “The fans of this great franchise have high expectations. We have heard from our fans, our partners and our players, and we have listened. It is time to return to our heritage, but in a bold, new manner. The Senators have a rich history in our community, and we are ready for the next chapter to begin.”
