If the Detroit Lions do end up deciding to move on from Matthew Stafford (they won’t), a potential trade destination just opened up.
According to numerous reports, Indianapolis Colts‘ QB Philip Rivers has decided that he is retiring from the NFL and the Colts will now begin looking for his replacement.

Now, even if the Lions do not make Stafford available for trade, do not be surprised if the Colts entertain making an offer to the Lions for their No. 7 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
That being said, Indianapolis seems like the perfect trade destination for Stafford if that is what ends up happening.
