It may only be October, but on Monday, the Preseason AP Top 25 College Basketball Poll was released, and as the defending National Champion Kansas Jayhawks are ranked No. 5 to start the season.
As far as the Big Ten goes, their highest-ranked team is Indiana, who comes in at No. 13 in the preseason poll. The Michigan Wolverines, who will look to get back to the NCAA Tournament once again, come in at No. 22, while Michigan State is not ranked to start the season.
