This won’t come as a surprise to you but on Sunday, the Detroit Lions were not only playing against the Green Bay Packers but for parts of the game, they were also playing against the referees.
A good example of this came in the fourth quarter with the Lions trailing the Packers 28-14. Matthew Stafford dropped back and threw a beautiful ball to Marvin Jones Jr. who made the catch and got both of his toes in bounds.
Unfortunately, the referees called the pass incomplete, which caused Lions interim head coach Darrell Bevell to use a challenge flag for a play that would surely be overturned.
Except for one problem, the call on the field was upheld, much to the Lions’ (and their fans) dismay.
Here is the play.
This was ruled incomplete, but wow – what a grab by Marvin Jones.pic.twitter.com/7Y8CaQhiZW

And here is the proof.
Well, Stafford was having none of it and proceeded to lead the Lions down for a touchdown!
