Report: Detroit Tigers P Matthew Boyd could be on the move

In 2019, the Detroit Tigers were awful but one of their bright spots was Matthew Boyd.

Though Boyd's W/L record and ERA did not look like anything to call home about (9-12 with a 4.56 ERA), he did strike out a career-best 238 batters in 185.1 innings of work (11.6 K/9).

But could Boyd soon be on the move?

Well, according to Jon Morosi, the Los Angeles Angels are interested in trading for Boyd though there is no indication of progress towards the deal.

During the MLB Winter Meetings Tigers' GM Al Avila made it clear that though he will listen to offers for Boyd, it would take a lot for him to trade him.

From MLB.com:

“I'm not out there trying to sell Matt Boyd,” Avila said. “We need Matt Boyd right now to be a good team.”

“We're not here calling up every team and saying, ‘Hey, do you want Boyd?' That's not what we're here to do,” Avila said. “We feel that we want to win more games, we want to be better.

“If a team is interested in Matt Boyd, and obviously there's teams that will [be], is it going to make the Detroit Tigers better? And when I say better, not like you're getting a prospect that's in low-A ball or Rookie ball. It's going to have to really make sense.”

Nation, what type of package do you think the Tigers could get for Matthew Boyd? Did Al Avila miss his big window to trade Boyd last season why his value was the highest?
