We looked for it at home, and didn’t see anything on our televisions.
According to reports, the Detroit Lions were set to honor the memory of their former first-round draft selection Charles Rogers, who tragically passed away earlier this week at 38 after battling cancer and liver disease.
“At some point during the game we’ll take a moment to recognize Charles Rogers’ passing similar to how we’ve acknowledged other recently deceased Legends,” a team rep was quoted as saying.
We would have loved to have seen a video tribute of his many highlights at Michigan State or from his albeit brief NFL career, maybe a moment of silence, or perhaps even a moment to recognize some of his family members and friends that could have been in the crowd.
But according to Twitter users who were at Ford Field this afternoon, none of that happened; the team barely acknowledged the late wide receiver, apparently just running an extremely brief “In Memory of Charles Rogers” picture on the video screen in the midst of recognizing birthday and special groups in attendance.
Lions ran a quick “In Memory of Charles Rogers” message on the big screen.

Did the @Lions really just throw up a 3 second “in memory of Charles Rogers” picture while recognizing today’s groups and birthdays with out even mentioning it? Shame on you @RodWood_Lions and the rest of this joke of an organization.

If this is true and that’s all they did, shame on the Lions.
