A big-time crowd at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday, March 9th for the World Wrestling Entertainment house show. The Road to Wrestlemania has therefore also passed by Detroit with Smackdown’s blue roster and a show that, as was easy to predict even on fan-sportsbook.com, did not disappoint the expectations of the many who attended the event.
The interesting opening match of the card saw Samoa Joe confirm as United States Champion against Jeff Hardy. Both are superstar veterans of show business and have managed to warm the spirits of the audience.
Then there’s the women’s roster with Nikki Cross able to defeat Sony Deville thanks to a swinging neckbreaker.
The tag team match that saw The New Day (Xavier Woods and Big E) defeat the new strange duo of Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura with the already proven The Bar, the European athletes Sheamus & Cesaro, proved to be really spectacular.
Immediately after came the moment of the spectacular cruiserweight in a match featuring two superstars who really represent the top of the category: on the one hand, the veteran Rey Mysterio Jr who still manages to fascinate fans with his spectacular moves, on the other hand, the freshness of Andrade Almas. At the end of a really successful match, the expert Rey Rey got the better of him and closed the match with his typical final move, the 619.
Then it was the turn of a match valid for the WWE Championship title, which is now held by Daniel Bryan who managed to keep the title despite coming out defeated against Mustafa Ali. The latter’s victory was in fact for disqualification and in these cases, the belt remains to the champions. Daniel Bryan has done everything to be booed and insulted by the public present at the Little Caesars Arena. The audience then acclaimed the arrival of Kofi Kingston, who intervened to put an end to Bryan’s assault on Ali outside the rules.
Time again for the “girl power” of Smackdown. First Carmella & Naomi get the better of The IIconics, the tag team heel composed of Billie Kay and Peyton Royce. Then Asuka manages to defend her women’s title from Mandy Rose’s assault at the end of a really hard-fought match that she ended thanks to the Asuka Lock.

The main event of the show then saw two of the superstars really at the top of Smackdown: AJ Styles and Randy Orton. As there was no belt to win, the outcome of the match was even more uncertain. The match began with a low pace and then rose in intensity from minute to minute in a succession of unforgettable emotions for the many fans present. Orton tried several times to take home the match thanks to his typical move, the RKO but in the end, AJ Style thanks to his Phenomenal Forearm, was able to close this great night of wrestling with a victory.
We remind you that the Road to Wrestlemania will finish on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford (New York) for the thirty-fifth edition of the most important show of the year for the WWE.
