Special teams ace Dee Virgin to be released from Detroit Lions practice squad

The Detroit Lions have made another roster move this afternoon, making the decision to waive cornerback Dee Virgin from the practice squad.

#Lions are releasing CB Dee Virgin from their practice squad, per @davebirkett. He’s emerged as a special teams core player in Detroit, and likely catches on in that role somewhere else.

Prior to joining the Lions via waivers in 2018, Virgin had been a member of the Houston Texans.

He was elevated to the active roster on September 19 for Detroit’s Week 2 matchup against the Green Bay Packers, and reverted to the practice squad after the game.

The Donalsonville, GA native played college ball at West Virgina.
