Detroit Tigers general manager Al Avila has an extremely important decision to make during the offseason. In fact, you could argue that it will be the most important decision Avila will ever have to make in his career.
Near the end of the 2020 regular season, Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire made the decision to retire due to health concerns.
Now, not many people thought Gardy would be the manager to lead the Tigers to their next World Series, but the thought was that he would at least finish out the season.
Now, Avila is charged with the ultra-important task of interviewing potential candidates and then deciding which one is the best option to lead a young team to the promised land. (Then, of course, that candidate has to agree to come to Detroit)
In my opinion, the top two candidates who Avila should consider are A.J. Hinch and Alex Cora…in that order.
Both Hinch and Cora were suspended for the 2020 season for their involvement in the infamous cheating scandal with the Houston Astros. But, now that the 2020 season is in the books, both Cora and Hinch are now available to be interviewed.
Now that the World Series is over, so are the suspensions for managers Alex Cora and A.J. Hinch. Teams are now free to interview them.

Nation, should the Tigers do whatever they can to bring in Hinch or Cora to be their next manager?
