WATCH: Red Wings first pre-season game vs. Chicago

The pre-season is officially underway, and the Detroit Red Wings are off to a good start!

A go-ahead power play goal from Michael Rasmussen proved to be the game winner on Tuesday night against the Chicago Blackhawks as the Red Wings prevailed by a 5-3 final score at Little Caesars Arena.

Matt Puempel, Chris Terry, Matthew Ford, and Luke Glendening (empty net) all tallied for the Red Wings, who got seven saves from Jimmy Howard before giving way to Calvin Pickard midway through the matchup.
