The 2021-22 Big Ten basketball season is officially in the books and Michigan State finished No. 7 while Michigan finished No. 8 in the standings.
Up next for the Wolverines and Spartans is the 2022 Big Ten Tournament, which begins on Wednesday (both teams play their first game on Thursday).
On Monday morning, ESPN Bracketologist Joe Lunardi released his latest 2022 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament bracket projection, and here is where Michigan and Michigan State stand as of today.
Michigan – Last 4 byes, No. 11 seed. Lunardi has the Wolverines playing No. 6 LSU in the Round of 64.
Michigan State – No. 8 seed. Lunardi has the Spartans playing No. 9 San Francisco in the Round of 64.
If the Wolverines and/or Spartans make a deep run in the Big Ten Tournament, they could easily see their seed go up. If they were to lose in the Quarterfinals, they may slip a bit.
