The Lions could not stop the run
Heading into the game, most people who thought the Lions had a chance to win tied that chance to the Seahawks offensive line and lack of a running game. Instead of shutting down the run, the Lions defense allowed Flint native Thomas Rawls to do whatever he wanted all night long. When all was said and done, Rawls carried the ball 27 times for 161 yards and a touchdown. Seattle realized early on that the Lions could not stop the run and the exposed that weakness all night long.
