Throughout his career, Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has put up some astounding statistics. In fact, despite being just 30-years-old, Stafford currently ranks No. 27 all-time in career passing yards with 35,382. Depending on how long he wants to play, there is a great shot that Stafford will climb well into the top 10 all-time (maybe even top 5), which would give him an excellent shot at making the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

But there have always been and will always be Matthew Stafford haters who claim that many of Stafford’s statistics come when a game is already out of hand.
The latest pathetic attempt at knocking Stafford down a peg comes from nonother than former Detroit News columnist, Rob Parker. Parker currently is a sports anchor for 7 Action News as well as a contributor to Fox Sports 1’s “Skip and Shannon: Undisputed” show.
On Thursday, @TheHerd tweeted out the following ‘Stat Paddford’ graphic courtesy of Rob Parker. As you can see, Parker claims that 181 of Stafford’s 347 passing yards against the 49ers came in the fourth quarter with under 10 minutes to play and the Lions down by 14 points.

Yes, Parker is right about when those yards (and two touchdowns) came, but what in the hell was Stafford supposed to do in that situation? Ask to be taken out of the game? Refuse to throw the ball because it was “garbage time?” Answer me, Rob!
Down 14 points in the fourth quarter is nothing for Stafford and the Lions offense and Parker should know that. Does that mean they will always come back and win the game? Of course not, but Stafford and the Lions offense has proven numerous times that a comeback is always possible.
So, Rob Parker, you are a troll and this worthless graphic is nothing but a sorry attempt for YOU to pad your stats.
