When news broke that the Chicago White Sox had fired Rick Renteria as their manager, many Detroit Tigers fans were bummed out because it hurt their chances of landing former Astros manager A.J. Hinch.
Well, just moments ago, the White Sox announced that they are not hiring Hinch but instead, they are hiring Hall of Famer Tony LaRussa to take over as their manager.

With this move, Tigers fans should be rejoicing as Hinch (my No. 1 option) is still available.
What is a real head-scratcher is that the White Sox, according to Bob Nightengale, did not even interview Hinch for their managerial opening!
