Inside the Article:
The Dallas Cowboys may have had a solid 2022 season as they advanced all the way to the Divisional Round of the 2022 NFL Playoffs, but, as we know, that is not good enough for Cowboys' owner, Jerry Jones. On Thursday, Cowboys' head coach Mike McCarthy announced that the decision has been made to fire six coaches. The Cowboys are now on the hunt to replace those coaches for the 2023 season.

Why it Matters
Though the Cowboys finished the 2022 regular season with a 12-5 record, they were not able to reach their ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl. Because of that, they have decided to make some coaching changes for the 2023 season.
- The Cowboys finished 12-5 in 2022
- They lost to the 49ers in the Divisional Round of the 2022 NFL Playoffs
- Head Coach Mike McCarthy is returning, but other coaches are not.

- George Edwards (Senior Defensive Assistant)
- Leon Lett (Assistant Defensive Line)
- Skipp Peete (Running Backs)
- Joe Philbin (Offensive Line)

Mike McCarthy's statement after firing six coaches
Mike McCarthy released the following statement after he fired six Dallas Cowboys coaches.
“We think these men for their hard work, dedication, and contributions to the Cowboys,” McCarthy said. “Each of them represented our team and organization at a high, professional level with class and commitment to making our team better. These were difficult decisions to make because of the great respect I have for each of them as a coach and person of character, combined with the experiences we've all gone through together. This is the hardest part of the business and we wish them nothing but the best.”
