While nothing is set in stone as of yet, the Detroit Lions continuing to lose games is only helping their chances of landing the NFL’s top overall draft pick next spring.
And while Michgian’s Aidan Hutchinson is projected to go 1st overall, there is discussion that Oregon Ducks DE Kayvon Thibodeaux will be a top pick as well. And if the report from NFL reporter Josina Anderson is to be believed, the Lions could be calling his name first off the board.
But don’t expect Lions coach Dan Campbell to put too much stock into that. As he put it, that’s not his department – that falls on GM Brad Holmes since the festivities don’t take place for several months.
“Is the Draft within the next day or so? Because I’d be very interested – but right now, no,” Campbell said. “That’s Brad’s department right now – I’m so focused on what we have here and getting prepared for Arizona.”
