Herron, who is 25, also had short stints with the Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots during the offseason.
Kennedy, who is 23, is a 5-11, 190 lb undrafted rookie out of Bryant University.
As noted by Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Kennedy is a slot receiver like Danny Amendola, who missed the last two practices with a chest injury. Amendola will try and give it a go today.
Lions signed WR Tom Kennedy to the 53-man roster. He plays slot. Danny Amendola does, too. So … we'll see what happens Sunday. Patricia said Amendola will try to practice today.
