The 2018-2019 NHL season was essentially train wreck for the Detroit Red Wings but to be honest, that was pretty much expected.

Now, the question is, where do the Red Wings go from here?

Well, it all starts with the 2019 NHL Draft and with the NHL Draft Lottery now in the books, the Red Wings have learned they will have the No. 6 overall pick in the first round.

After finishing with the fourth-worst record in the NHL, the Red Wings had just a 9.5% chance of landing the No. 1 pick heading into the Draft Lottery.

The No. 1 overall pick goes to the New Jersey Devils with the New York Rangers picking No. 2 and the Chicago Blackhawks grabbing the No. 3 slot.

The remaining 12 NHL teams who did not make the playoffs and who were not selected in the Draft Lottery will be assigned picks 4 through 15, in inverse order of where they finished in the regular season standings.

The 2019 NHL Draft will be held at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. The 1st Round will be held Friday, June 21 while rounds two through seven will take place on Saturday, June 22.

Nation, who do you think the Red Wings should select with their pick?
