Jamal Agnew is on the verge of wrapping up the four-year, $2.65 million deal he signed in 2017 after being drafted out of San Diego by the Detroit Lions.
And while his preference is to remain in the only NFL city that he’s called home, the realities of the business may decide otherwise.
While speaking with media members in virtual format this afternoon, Agnew stated that his future is out of his control.
Per Michael Rothstein:
“Lions WR/returner Jamal Agnew, who is a free agent after the season, said he would love to be in Michigan but it is a business and he can only control what he can control.”
Meanwhile, Agnew had nothing but good things to say about quarterback Matthew Stafford, who was injured during yesterday’s loss to the Green Bay Packers.
“He’s tough as nails. One of the toughest guys I’ve ever been around,” he said.
After switching from cornerback to wide receiver, Agnew has caught 12 paasses for 76 yards in 11 games played in 2020.
