Slay has already missed the Lions’ mandatory minicamp and there is speculation (pure rumors at this point) that he could also skip training camp if a deal is not worked out.

That’s why when Slay took to Twitter on Tuesday night and tweeted, “Question? Y can’t NFL player opt out of there contracts like other sports…,” some Lions fans got scared.

Fortunately, Slays’ follow up tweet three minutes later calmed those same fans who had already been in panic mode.

Time will tell what happens with Darius Slay and the Detroit Lions but he has every right to want to get paid as much as he can while he is still healthy and young.
